What is a Raw Food Vegan Diet?

A Raw Food Vegan diet is a diet based on the consumption of nothing other than uncooked/unprocessed plant based foods. Nuts, seeds, Fruit, vegetables, and fermented foods. No meat, dairy, or cooked foods. The idea is to keep it as 100 percent natural and energy giving as possible.

To many in the Raw Food Vegan world there is nothing more detrimental to your health than eating cooked food. The idea behind a raw food diet is that when you process a food through heating you are removing the vital life energies that deliver healing benefits to your body. In more scientific terms, the excessive heat destroys precious vitamins and minerals that are only available in food when eaten in its raw, unprocessed form. They believe that cooking is just as negative a form of processing as any other. They follow the alkaline/acid rule. Only eating foods that cause the body to be alkaline. It's the Raw Foodist's belief that acidity in the body is the cause of all illness.

Of course, If you aren't getting all of the vitamins and minerals you need from your food, and you are consuming unhealthful acid foods on a daily basis, the health of not only your innards but your outers will suffer as well. Showing up in the appearance of your skin, hair, nails, ect. This is where many raw foodists claime to see significant improvement. Boasting that they have outward health and a natural glow they previously did not while eating cooked foods. And that their skin looks more clear and beautiful then ever before.

After viewing hundreds of amazing testimonials like this I was convinced that they all couldn't be mistaken. I had to try it! My hair and skin had been dry and lackluster for years. Something had to change. Luckily I wasn't in on it alone. I implored my sister to join me in the raw endeavor. And I'm glad. It was much easier to stick to with someone else involved.

I'm glad to say that we both made it to the 2 month mark with very little issue! And the proof is in the pudding. I can now vouch for the awesome healing and rejuvenating properties of a raw food Vegan diet. Our skin and hair has never looked better! And these are just the superficial positives of the diet. We've gained endless benefits from this experience which I plan to write about some time soon. Try it for yourself!

Nice Hub! I have been wanting to give the Raw food diet a try for a while now. I truly do believe that acidity is the cause for many diseases as well. Maybe one day I will take that leap. Your hair looks great!

Great information and nice pics. I have been reading about the benefits of raw foods and am incorporating more & more into my diet everyday. I have been a vegan for almost a year and love the health benefits. Are you still eating raw? If so, how is it going for you?

That's great! The more the better. I am still eating raw foods yes. I am no longer 100 percent. More or less 80-90%. But I am still vegan. It seems my energy goes up each day and health quirks I've had for years are slowly fading. It's quite exciting!
